There are a number of ways to change your password.
1. From the logon screen
If you are at the login screen and you have forgotten your password, you can select the Forgotten Password link and a prompt for your email will be shown. If the email address is registered in the RAP system, a password reset link will be sent to the email account. It can take up to 5 five minutes for this email to be sent.
Once you receive the email, it will contain a one time password, generated by RAP, and the link to the login screen. Entering your user name and the one time password, will bring up a new password screen.
Enter your selected password in the New Password and Confirm Password boxes. They must match, and conform to the password policy set by your system administrator.
The requirements for your password are shown at the top of the screen and as you create a password, a guide to whether the password is weak or strong is shown.
When changing or replacing your password, RAP will not accept any of the last three passwords used to log on to your account.
Select the Submit button
Now enter your user email and your new password.
You will now be logged in.
2. From your profile page when logged in.
If you are already logged in and you want to change your password, you can do this from your profile details:
-
Click on your user name in the toolbar
. - Select Change Password
-
Enter your new password in both Password and Confirm Password.
-
Click on the Submit button
. - You will be logged out again and will need to use the new password details to log back in again.
If the password is changed then you will be required to use your new password at the next login to the RAP system. Your password will not be displayed in either of the boxes, instead a series of dots will be shown.
3. Administrator reset
Your administrator can reset your password. If this option is done, you will receive an email as in 1 above with a one time password to use to gain access to the system and allow you to choose a new password. They will not be able to tell you your old password, but they will be able to set a new password which you must then change to ensure no-one can use your account.
